Hyperthermia Human body temperature



hyperthermia occurs when body produces or absorbs more heat can dissipate. caused prolonged exposure high temperatures. heat-regulating mechanisms of body become overwhelmed , unable deal heat, causing body temperature climb uncontrollably. hyperthermia @ or above 40 °c (104 °f) life-threatening medical emergency requires immediate treatment. common symptoms include headache, confusion, , fatigue. if sweating has resulted in dehydration, affected person may have dry, red skin.


in medical setting, mild hyperthermia commonly called heat exhaustion or heat prostration; severe hyperthermia called heat stroke. heat stroke may come on suddenly, follows untreated milder stages. treatment involves cooling , rehydrating body; fever-reducing drugs useless condition. may done through moving out of direct sunlight cooler , shaded environment, drinking water, removing clothing might keep heat close body, or sitting in front of fan. bathing in tepid or cool water, or washing face , other exposed areas of skin, can helpful.


with fever, body s core temperature rises higher temperature through action of part of brain controls body temperature; hyperthermia, body temperature raised without influence of heat control centers.
