on 3 october 1763, woodward married susanna (d. 11 may 1795), daughter of richard blake, of bristol. among children, richard (d. 1828) entered church, becoming prebendary of inniscarra in 1798, , mary (1767–1799) married hon. charles brodrick, archbishop of cashel.
