sukuk islamic fixed income instrument, looks similar asset-backed debt instrument. of july 2011 , first time since law passed 3 years ago, iranian companies such mahan airlines , saman bank have respectively issued $30 million , $100 million worth of type of bonds. iran issue $15 billion in sukuk (islamic sharia-based) bonds in 2012 invested in domestic oil industry. trading of islamic bonds using salam format, deferred sale contract, disallowed aaoifi in 2007. in iran s debt market, salam common form of sukuk. mortgage backed security (mbs) allowed in iran s secondary market (e.g. farabourse). according aaoif, main structures of sukuks are:
