there 2 on-deck circles in field, 1 each team, positioned in foul ground between home plate , respective teams benches. technically known next-batter s boxes. on-deck circle next scheduled batter, or on-deck batter, warms while waiting current batter finish turn. on-deck circle either area composed of bare dirt; plain circle painted onto artificial turf; or often, @ professional level, mat made artificial material, team or league logo painted onto it.
