wegl 91 s broadcasting studio in current location in suite 1105 of new auburn university student center.


in 1988, station upgraded power 3,000 watts , became class non-commercial radio station. during 1989-1990 school year, plans finalized move wegl radio home in haley center new location in foy student union. on october 8, 1990, university president james e. martin officially signed wegl on first time foy student union.


wegl remained in foy student union until summer of 2008. wegl made final broadcast location @ 5:00 pm on friday, august 15, 2008. final song broadcast foy student union little bit tim fite.


wegl, along other campus media, relocated foy student union new student center during first weeks of fall 2008 semester. broadcasting live djs , internet streaming audio resumed shortly thereafter new location.


on april 25, 2009 wegl, in association committee of 19, held first live music event in on decade. weglfest held in ballroom of new student center , proceeds event went benefit auburn s war on hunger. performers @ event included magnolia sons, weak music thomas, , tony brook. incidentally, event took place on 38th anniversary of wegl s first air-date.
