in late july 2007, guitarist nuno bettencourt left band, stating, have felt uncomfortable direction of lineup , live show. believe in songs , music on album, , wish perry farrell , musician remains on tour best.” drummer kevin figueiredo left join nuno in reuniting boston hard rock band extreme. silvertide guitarist, nick perri, , drummer, jordan plonsky, joined band remainder of tour.


in 2008 interview, bettencourt revealed exited band due perry farrell s last minute addition of wife, etty lau farrell, band s official lineup, album cover , tour. bettencourt felt addition of farrell changed dynamic within band, making satellite party less of cohesive unit , more perry , etty farrell project, bettencourt, restivo, , figueiredo relegated role of backing musicians. relations within band soured, , bettencourt , figueiredo quit band before completion of satellite party s first tour.


the band later parted ways columbia records, , began working on new material. however, in 2008, farrell reunited jane s addiction putting satellite party on indefinite hiatus.


in 2012, farrell discussed aborted plans satellite party play, stating, working on something, project couple of years ago, satellite party. had doors. got produce song, previous unproduced , unrecorded song, doors, , wanted beautiful play called “the satellite party” in vegas. didn’t work out.
