male upperside: pale dull violet in lights frosted silvery sheen; bases of wings suffused blue. forewing: slender anticiliary dark brown line. hindwing: costa broadly paler; dorsum brownish; in specimens subterminal spots in interspaces 1 , 2 show through transparency underside, in few these spots marked actual scaling; anticiliary dark brown line in forewing. underside: brown. forewing: transversely traversed 3 pairs of white strigae, innermost pair curved, subcostal vein vein 1 across middle of cell; inner striga of medial pair complete, crosses on inner side of discocellulars subcostal vein vein 1, outer striga beyond discocellulars vein 7 vein 1, interrupted in interspace 5; outer pair of strigae discal , cross -from vein 7 vein 3, inner striga of pair impinging @ vein 3 on outer striga of medial pair; these followed inner , outer subterminal slender lunular line, terminal series of slender transversely linear spots edged outwardly slender white, , anticiliary dark brown line. hindwing: crossed 6 or 7 irregular, more or less broken, sublunular, white striations; terminal markings similar on forewing; interspace 1 minute, interspace 2 larger round jet-black spot, both spots crowned inwardly ochraceous orange , touched outwardly glittering metallic blue scales. antennae black, shafts obscurely speckled white on sides; head, thorax , abdomen purplish brown; beneath: palpi fringed black hairs, thorax bluish white, abdomen white.


female upperside, forewing: costa above cell, apex broadly , terminal edging occupies one-third of length of wing jet-black, colour on costa widened outwards; remainder of wing white shaded dusky greyish in lights has beautiful metallic blue iridescence; on inner side of terminal edging transverse, ill-defined, diffuse dusky band, , enclosed between , black edging 3 prominent spots of white ground colour. hindwing: costal margin above longitudinal line through middle of cell dusky black; posterior portion of wing dusky bluish, veins prominently black; comparatively well-defined transverse postdiscal series of black lunules edged inwardly , outwardly similar series of white lunules, followed subterminal series of black spots outer edging of white , anticiliary jet-black line; subterminal spots decrease in size anteriorly, in interspaces 2 , 3 largest, 2 spots in interspace 1 minute , geminate (paired); tail black tipped white. underside: similar of male ground colour grey slight tint of brown, transverse white strigae broader, diffuse; on forewing band formed medial pair of strigae more broken in male posterior portion below vein 3 shifted outwards; on hindwing sub-terminal black spot in interspace 2 comparatively large , prominent. antenna in male; head, thorax , abdomen brown; beneath: palpi, thorax , abdomen in male.
