virginia water lake, in south of park, artificially-created lake of around 1 km (0.4 sq mi) dating 1740s. among lakeside features 30-metre-high (100 ft) high canadian totem pole commemorating centenary of british columbia , collection of ornamental roman ruins, transported site of leptis magna (modern-day al-khums) in 1816 , installed @ virginia water in 1826.
