each page first drawn metal stylus, leaving lines faint. there numerous changes evident, easy make in technique. next stage go on these lines pen , black or brown ink. of pages not taken beyond these stages, found on page, areas inked over. other pages have not yet been inked @ all. 4 pages received final stage of colouring in tempera, though others part-coloured, main figures. has been argued botticelli, or patron, came prefer uncoloured drawings, , deliberately left rest, not accepted scholars.
