when husband died in 1613, widow settled affairs , begged leave enter carmel, asking favour received lay sister in poorest community. in 1614 withdrew monastery of amiens, taking name of marie of incarnation. 3 daughters had preceded cloister, , 1 of them, margaret of blessed sacrament, sub-prioress @ amiens. made solemn profession on april 8, 1615, in course of prolonged sickness. in 1616, reasons of health, sent carmelite convent @ pontoise, died @ age of fifty-two.
