bfpp 1 of first discovered forms of polymicrogyria have gene identified linking syndromes caused. gene called gpr56. symmetrical distribution evident in form, more distinctly, patients bfpp found have atrophy of cerebellum , brain stem, bilateral white matter abnormalities. bfpp characterized estopia, global development delay, pyramidal signs, cerebral signs, , seizures. estopia known dysconjugate gaze, , common feature of severe static encephalopathy. differentiates bfpp other bilatieral polymicrogyria syndromes.
