on 28 december 2014, indonesia airasia flight 8501, airbus a320-216 registered pk-axc (msn 3648) 155 passengers , 7 crew on board, crashed java sea whilst en route juanda international airport, surabaya changi international airport, singapore, killing 162 on board. regulatory licenses surabaya-singapore route medan-palembang route have been suspended indonesia airasia since january 2015 due suspected licensing breaches, medan-palembang route had been resumed.
