in 1971 taken on mechanical craft apprentice united kingdom atomic energy authority @ atomic energy research establishment in harwell, oxfordshire, qualified instrument mechanic. went on start hnc in mechanical engineering, still funded harwell. living in reading found advertisement frank williams grand prix, based in reading @ time, interviewed patrick head. williams looking milling machinist 1 of skills learnt @ harwell.


brawn lives in stoke row, near henley-on-thames. in spare time enjoys gardening, fishing , listening music. in 2006 brawn received honorary degree of doctor of engineering (deng) brunel university services motorsport.


on 18 november 2011, brawn received second honorary doctorate heriot-watt university. married jean.
