male upperside: pale violet dark bluish purple. forewings , hindwings: comparatively broad, anticiliary brown lines widened @ apex of forewing. hindwing: in addition costal , dorsal margins narrowly paler , duller in colour; termen not furnished tail @ apex of vein 2. underside: dull hair-brown ochraceous brown. forewing: 2 pairs of short, slender, transverse white strigae, inner pair costa median vein across middle of cell, outer pair costa along each side of discocellulars stopping short @ lower apex of cell; transverse, discal, bisinuate, catenulated (chain-like) narrow band formed of double series of slender white lunules followed inner , outer subterminal series of transversely elongate spots enclosed in or bordered on inner , outer sides obscure slender whitish lunules; lastly, dark brown anticiliary line. hindwing: crossed following slender white lunular lines: 2 subbasal, 2 short lines near apex of cell, 1 on each side of discocellulars, , 2 highly irregular, sinuous , broken on disc; these followed obscure lunular subterminal markings of dull white lines, in interspaces 1 , 2 subterminal black spots, , dark brown anticiliary line. antenna, head , abdomen dark brown, shafts of antennae ringed white; thorax bluish purple; beneath: palpi , thorax mixed black , white hairs, abdomen sullied white.


female upperside: costa , termen widely, dorsum narrowly brownish, darkest on apex; middle two-thirds of wing base white iridescent blue scales; transverse dark discocellular spot no anticiliary dark lines. hindwing: dusky brown, bluish between veins on basal half of wing. underside: pale ochraceous white, markings similar in male, dark ochraceous show more distinctly. antennae, head, thorax , abdomen dark brown; beneath: palpi , thorax white, abdomen pale ochraceous.
