the 240sx released in spring of 1994 1995 model. hatchback , convertible body styles eliminated, leaving coupe. wheelbase car grew 2 in (51 mm) , track width increased, while overall length of vehicle shorter previous generation. curb weight of vehicle increased 80 lb (36 kg) relative 1994 model. dual air bags added , automatic seatbelts replaced common manual type. pop-up headlights removed in favor of fixed lamps. though general layout remained same, parts redesigned extent few parts interchangeable. chassis changed increase stiffness (nissan claimed 50% torsional, 100% bending rigidity increase) , utilized higher rear strut mounts. fuel tank, located @ rear end under trunk floor, sat in front of rear suspension , behind rear seats.


the base model had 4-lug, 15-inch wheels, softer suspension, , no rear sway bar. base model had several options , features available fitted car such leather seats, abs, & viscous limited-slip differential. se , le models came equipped 5-lug, 16-inch alloy wheels, stiffer suspension base model, , rear sway bar. le upgraded se model, more standard equipment such leather seats, keyless entry, antitheft system, , cd player. antilock brakes , viscous limited-slip differential had optional package both base , se/le models.

in 1997, 240sx received minor updates. different looks of s-chassis referred before change zenki , after change kouki . changes aesthetic, including new projector headlights, front bumper, hood, fenders, , revised taillights , center panel. side skirts became standard on se , le trim level. 1998 marked end of production nissan 240sx, no further variations released in north america. later generation of 240sx suffered in sales due competition other car manufacturers , consumers @ time choosing more practical vehicles, such suv. every 240sx built in kyūshū, japan. last 240sx rolled off assembly line on july 23, 1998.
