labu distinguishes 7 vowels , 17 consonants. vowels exhibit contrasts between high , low pitch (or tone ), in yabêm, lutheran mission lingua franca coastal languages of morobe province during of 20th century. orthography of labu based on of yabêm (= jabêm), except y replaces yabêm j.
