on march 24, 2001, apple released mac os x 10.0 (internally codenamed cheetah).


the initial version slow, incomplete, , had few applications available @ time of launch, independent developers. while many critics suggested operating system not ready mainstream adoption, recognized importance of initial launch base on improve. releasing mac os x received macintosh community great accomplishment, attempts overhaul mac os had been underway since 1996, , delayed countless setbacks. following bug fixes, kernel panics became less frequent.
